What to do if a watch is not working properly

Batteries are installed by the manufacturer when the watch is made and running the watch since then and, as sometimes happens, the battery may run down and the watch quit functioning.

Always be sure to check and change the battery first (quartz models).

Watches carry their own manufacturer's warranties and must be sent to the proper service center for repair by following the instructions in the warranty information. If no warranty information is enclosed with the watch contact us for instructions. We do not operate a watch repair facility and do not perform warranty service on any manufacturer's behalf. If a watch is returned to us for service, we will forward it to the proper warranty service center and charge the customer's original credit card a $10.00 re-shipping fee plus the manufacturer's return S/H/I fee.

NOTE: It is not a defect if the battery has run down on a quartz watch or if the second hand is not perfectly aligned with the second marks. Manufacturers will oftentimes make production changes to dial and/or hand styles. Also, pocket watches may not open to a full 90% or may have slight abrasion marks where the cover closes on the body of the watch or where the chain is placed over the bow. These conditions are not considered factory defects or valid reasons for a return. Defective watches that have been worn or used can only be factory repaired in accord with the manufacturer's warranty policy.
